Account Questions

First, please check your spam folder. If the email isn't there, we recommend reaching out to your network administrator, as they may need to whitelist our domain to ensure you receive our emails. If the issue persists, feel free to contact us for further assistance.

Our system does not allow the use of personal email addresses such as Gmail or Yahoo, nor does it accept educational email addresses (e.g., .edu, .ac) for account creation.

There are a few reasons for these restrictions:

  1. Our service is designed for companies to create and administer pre-employment skills test as part of their hiring process. We do not offer personal training or educational services.
  2. Blocking personal email addresses helps prevent candidates from signing up to take tests themselves prior to your test. Each test includes practice questions, allowing candidates to familiarise themselves with the platform.
  3. Education-based email addresses are restricted to prevent students from using the platform as a study aid.

If your business does not have a custom domain, or if you work for an educational institution, you can still register by reaching out to us directly.

If you would like to delete your account please contact us directly at support@dexta.io, using the subject line: DELETE ACCOUNT.

Head to the notifications section under settings. Here, you can customise how you receive notifications about candidate tests

You have two types of notifications available:

  • Email me every time a candidate completes a test
  • Email me every day with a summary of candidates that completed a test

You'll receive the daily summary at 12:00 PM (GMT+0).

Choose the options that best suit your preferences, and click the 'Save Changes' button to apply them. Note: You will only be able to tailor notification settings with the Pro or Enterprise plan.

Billing Questions

Our billing and invoicing process is designed to be simple and transparent:

  1. Subscription Plans: If you are on a subscription plan, you will be billed on a monthly or annual basis, depending on the plan you’ve chosen. An invoice will be sent to your registered email address at the start of each billing cycle.
  2. Custom Integrations or Add-Ons: If your plan includes custom integrations or additional services, the costs will be clearly itemised on your invoice.
  3. Payment Methods: We accept a variety of payment methods, including credit card, bank transfer, or direct debit, ensuring flexibility for your organisation.
  4. Access to Invoices: You can access and download all invoices through your account dashboard for easy tracking and record-keeping.
  5. Support: Our billing team is available to assist with any questions or adjustments related to your invoice. Simply reach out, and we’ll be happy to help.

We aim to make the billing process as seamless as possible, so you can focus on using our platform to find the best candidates for your organisation.

Yes, you can manage your plan through the Plan & Billing tab in your account settings. To upgrade, you have the following options:

  • Click the See Upgrade Options button within the Plan & Billing tab.
  • If you try to add a feature or test marked with a gold crown (not included in your current plan), a pop-up will appear with details on how to access this feature and a link to upgrade your plan.
  • If you attempt to invite an external candidate to a test that contains a test or feature outside your current plan, a pop-up will appear prompting you to upgrade.

If you’re upgrading from a lower-tiered paid plan, you will be billed for the full amount of your new plan. Your renewal date will change to the date of your upgrade.

Example:
Jack is on a Starter plan that will renew on August 10th.
Today is May 1st.
He upgrades to a Pro plan.
His new auto-renewal date is May 1st.

Downgrading

If you would like to downgrade your plan please contact support@dexta.io.

If you downgrade from a higher-tiered plan, the new plan will not take effect until the date that your plan is due to renew. This includes downgrading to a Free plan. The previous terms for your higher-tiered plan continue to apply until the end of the billing cycle.

Example:

Jack is on a Pro plan and his subscription will renew on August 10th.
He knows her hiring needs will be significantly less next year, so he downgrades to a Free plan.
He will continue to have access to all of the features of his Pro plan until his renewal date.
On August 10th, his plan will renew on the Free plan.

When downgrading to a Free plan you can maintain access to all your account data by purchasing our Data Access add on. The Data Access add on will allow you to retain access to all historic data on your account for a nominal fee. This is a cost effective way of keeping access to all account data when hiring slows down.

The Plan & Billing tab is visible to all users, allowing you to view your current plan. However, only the Account Owner can modify billing details. Please reach out to the designated person on your team for any changes. For data protection reasons, we will only discuss account and billing details with the Account Owner.

Candidate Related Questions

While candidates are able to complete their tests on a mobile device, it is not recommended due to the small screen size, which can make answering questions challenging. We strongly advise using a laptop or desktop computer with Chrome as the preferred browser for the best experience.

Additionally, if the test includes programming tasks, a warning will appear advising against using a mobile device, as writing code on such a device can be particularly difficult.

Yes, you can see the time they started, exited, resumed and completed the test.

Tests cannot be reset. If a candidate needs to retake part of the test for any reason, they will need to start from the beginning. To do this, you must first remove them from your candidate list and then send a new invitation.

Please note that the candidate will be presented with the same questions as before, which may affect their results. We recommend downloading the candidate’s original results before removal, and advising them to skip any tests or questions they have already completed.

The test expires 14 days after the test invite was sent.

The number of questions slightly differ for each test, however, the average test is 10 minutes in length and comprises 10 questions.

When you invite a candidate to take a test, they will receive an email invitation. The default email includes helpful links to support articles and a brief overview of what to expect. Before starting the test, candidates are given a detailed explanation of why the test is being requested, the estimated time it will take, and an outline of the types of tasks they will encounter.

We strive to ensure the testing experience is smooth and stress-free for your candidates. If they run into any problems they should contact support@dexta.io.

The tests on our site are in the English language, however please get in touch if you would like alternative language tests.

We take test fairness and integrity very seriously, implementing several advanced measures to ensure assessments accurately reflect candidates’ skills and capabilities:

1. Anti-Cheating Features

  • Our platform includes sophisticated anti-cheating tools such as mouse tracking in web browsers and video screen capture. These features monitor candidate behavior to detect irregularities and ensure compliance with test rules.

2. AI Detection and Test Design:

  • We use AI-detection technology to identify responses that might be generated by artificial intelligence. Additionally, our test questions are crafted to assess problem-solving and critical thinking skills that AI tools struggle to replicate.

3. Dynamic and Secure Tests:

  • By employing randomised and dynamic question banks, we ensure no two tests are identical, reducing the risk of external assistance.

4. Candidate Permission for Video Usage:

  • To uphold fairness while respecting privacy, we always seek explicit candidate permission before using video footage. This ensures transparency in our processes and compliance with ethical standards.

5. Timed and Monitored Tests:

  • Tests are designed to be time-constrained, making it challenging for candidates to rely on external tools or assistance during completion.

6. Follow-Up Validation:

  • We offer follow-up live interviews or validation tests to further confirm that test results align with the candidate’s actual capabilities.

These measures, combined with our commitment to ethical practices, ensure that our assessments provide reliable and fair results for effective hiring decisions.

Analysing Test Results

To download your individual candidates' detailed scores, go to the specific candidate's results screen. Here you can download results as a PDF, CSV or XLSX.

To maintain the integrity of our tests, we do not share the questions or answers. However, you can refer to the detailed scoring to assess your candidate's performance, and make use of the ‘Try yourself’ feature.

Benchmark scoring enables fair comparisons between candidates. Test results are presented as percentile ranks, showing how each candidate performed in relation to others. This allows you to compare candidates equally, whether against each other or those with similar qualifications, seniority, or experience levels. To see more information about how the test results are displayed, head to Interpret Results on the individual candidates results page.
